DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Sports Day on Tuesday 16 June. The children will be taking part in a range of competitive sports and activities throughout the afternoon. \nThe event will take place on the playground and the field\, starting promptly at 1:20pm and finishing at approximately 2:45pm. \nWe invite parents and families to join us to support and cheer the children on. There will be designated areas which will be cordoned off for spectators to watch and cheer our sporting stars. \nWe kindly ask that you remain within these designated areas as we move from the playground to the field\, where we will finish the afternoon with our team races. \nThe children will take part in a carousel of eight different sporting activities as they compete in their house teams. \nAll children should come to school wearing their house-colour T-shirt\, along with their PE kit and trainers.  Children will also need to bring a water bottle and a sunhat and sun cream should be applied before school. \nThe following houses will be highlighted by their colour and the children should be familiar with the house team they belong to. \nWillow – Red \nChestnuts – Blue \nBirch – Green \nElm – Yellow \nIn the event of bad weather\, the sports day will be postponed\, and a text message will be sent out to inform you regarding an alternative date which would be Monday 22 June. \nWe will have water and refreshments for parents to purchase at the end of the event.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that Year 1 will be going on a trip to Salcey Forest as part of our science learning about different types of trees and plants. The trip will take place on Wednesday 17 June and it promises to be a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore nature first-hand and deepen their understanding of the natural world.  We will be leaving at 9.15am and returning before the end of the school day. \nWe kindly ask for a contribution of £8.00 to cover the cost of travel. Please ensure that payment is made via MCAS in ‘Trips’ by Friday 5 June.  By making your payment\, you are giving permission for your child to attend. \nUnfortunately\, if we do not get enough contributions\, we will have to cancel the trip. Should you have any financial concerns or require support\, please contact us in confidence. \nPlease complete the form sent via email to let us know if you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for your child on Wednesday 17 June or you will be providing a packed lunch from home. \nIf you are providing a packed lunch from home\, please send it in a disposable carrier bag with your child’s name on it.   All children will need to bring a full water bottle. \nTo ensure the children are comfortable throughout the day\, please make sure they come to school in appropriate clothing for outdoor activities\, including a waterproof coat\, hat\, and with suncream applied before school. You are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy with your child on the field\n12:30 pm- children will join their parents for a picnic\nAll hot meal options will be cancelled for this day. However\, you will be able to book a baguette packed lunch for your child. We will share further details as soon as bookings are available on Swift\nAny children who do not have parents attending will have a picnic together with a member of staff\nAfter lunch the Summer Fayre will open\n3.30pm– Summer Fayre closes\n\nThe summer fayre will have a range of fun activities. Some of these will be free and some will be fundraising activities and stalls\, which can be paid for using pre-paid tokens. \nSets of tokens to the value of £5 and £10 will be available to purchase via MCAS. \nA number of external stall holders will also be at our event (e.g. ice cream van). The external venders will except cash and card payments. DESCRIPTION:In Year 2\, we have been learning all about Kenya and comparing it to the UK as part of our Geography unit this half term. \nTo celebrate and showcase our learning\, Year 2 will be having a Safari Day on Tuesday 7 July. \nChildren are invited to come dressed in safari-style clothing\, such as neutral-coloured shorts or trousers\, t-shirts\, hats\, sunglasses\, jackets (depending on the weather)\, walking boots and small travel bags. Please do not feel that you need to buy anything new—shorts and a t-shirt will be absolutely fine. \nAs part of the day\, we would also like children to make their own binoculars at home to bring into school\, please. They can be as creative as they like! We will be using these to go on our very own safari around the school. \nWe are really looking forward to another fun Inspire Day with all of our Year 2 children.

DESCRIPTION:As we approach the end of the school year\, it is time to say a fond farewell to our wonderful Year 2 pupils at Ashbrook School. Over their time with us\, the children have grown enormously\, and we are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. \nWe would like to warmly invite you to join us for our Year 2 Leavers’ Assembly on Tuesday 14 July at 9.30am. This special event will celebrate the children’s journey and their many successes during their time at Ashbrook. \nDuring the assembly\, the children will share their favourite memories and reflections\, and we will also hold an award ceremony to recognise their hard work\, creativity\, and positive contributions to school life. \nDue to limited space\, we are only able to accommodate a maximum of two adults per child. \nYou are welcome to bring babies and younger siblings; however\, we kindly ask that they remain seated on your lap and that you sit at the back of the hall. This will allow you to step outside easily if they become disruptive during the assembly.

DESCRIPTION:Friday 17 July (the last day of term) is Break the Rules Day!  This will be a fun-filled fundraising day\, where pupils can enjoy a few relaxed rules while helping us raise money to purchase additional resources for the children to use in school. \nChildren are invited to: \n\nWear non-uniform\nHave a sweet at snack time\nWear nail varnish\nHave a temporary tattoo\nHave an exciting hairstyle\n\nParents can kindly make a £1 donation on MCAS if they would like to. \nThank you for your support
