DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share that our Year 2 children will be visiting Cadbury World on Wednesday 12 March\, as part of their chocolate unit in writing. This enriching trip will provide an engaging and memorable opportunity for the children to explore the fascinating process of chocolate production\, bring their learning to life\, and inspire their writing back in the classroom. \nPlease ensure your child is in school by 7:45am on this day. Unfortunately\, anyone who is late will be unable to attend as the coach must leave promptly at 8.00am. \nWe will depart from school at 8.00am and return by 4.00pm.  \nTo make this wonderful experience possible\, we kindly request a voluntary contribution of £23 per child to cover the cost of transport\, entry\, and activities. DESCRIPTION:We are very fortunate to have an opportunity for Year 2 children to visit College Lake in Tring on Tuesday 25 February\, for the whole day\, to take part in a range of outdoor adventures out on the reserve.  This trip will be free of charge\, however we will still need your permission via MCAS in ‘Events’. \nWe will be taking part in three different activities \n\nSensory Walk – to experience sights\, smells\, sounds and touch\nNature Detectives – to hunt for clues and solve a nature mystery in the woods\nPond dipping – to get a hands-on exploration of the pond\n\nWe aim to leave school by 9:15am to get to our destination at 9:45am.  Please ensure your child is dropped off promptly at 8:40am. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share a special treat to start off the new term! On Tuesday 7 January 2025\, Year 2 children are invited to enjoy a live pantomime performance of ‘Snow White’ at Holmwood School and Nursery. \nInstead of taking the children to a theatre\, we’ve decided to bring the pantomime to us. This will allow the children to experience live theatre\, whilst keeping costs down and minimizing disruption to the school day. \nThe performance will be a fantastic way to introduce the children to classic fairy tales in a fun and engaging manner. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to tell you we will be having a Christmas Disco on Thursday 19 December. \nThere will be a disco and lots of fun party games. Children will also be provided with a drink and a snack. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any concerns regarding allergies. \nTickets are available to buy on MCAS in ‘Events’. \n\nChildren in Leopards and Elephants classes will be going straight to the hall at 3.00pm. After the disco\, please collect your child at 4.00pm prompt from the school playground.\nChildren in Year 1 and Year 2 – We are pleased to offer parents of children in Year 1 and Year 2 the option to book after school care from 3.10-4.00pm\, so that children are able to stay in school go straight to the disco at 4.00pm.  If you would like the additional after school care\, please also purchase in ‘Events’.Alternatively\, please collect your child from the school playground at 3.10pm as usual and return them for the party at 4.00pm.  When the party has finished\, please collect your child from the school hall doors at 5.00pm prompt.\n\nIf you have any queries please contact mmoore@ashbrookschool.net 01908 561366.
