SUMMARY:Outdoor Classroom Day (all classes)
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor Classroom Day is a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child’s day. On two days of action each year\, teachers take children outdoors to play and learn. All year round\, the Outdoor Classroom Day community campaigns for more time outdoors every day. \nhttps://outdoorclassroomday.com/ \nChildren are spending less time outdoors than ever before and this is affecting their health\, wellbeing and development. Time outdoors – on Outdoor Classroom Day and every day – will make children happier and healthier\, as well as equipping them with the skills they need for life. \nAt Ashbrook School\, we have embarked on the OPAL project\, where we have more focus on the benefits of outdoor learning. The children will have a day of outdoor fun! \nIf you are interested in being part of this day and might like to support us\, then please speak to Mr Ainscow or Mrs Cobley (part of Ashbrook OPAL team).

SUMMARY:World Food Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:October 16 was designated for a significant reason: It’s the date that the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation was originally founded in 1945. Since then\, the Food and Agricultural Organisation (or FAO\, as it is often referred to) has been leading global efforts to end world hunger\, improve food security and improve global nutrition. \nWhat is this year’s World Food Day theme?\nThe theme for World Food Day 2024 is “Right to foods for a better life and a better future”. \nThis aims to highlight the immediate and long-term benefits of prioritising access to safe and nutritious food for all. \nEvery year since 1981\, a theme as been highlighted to concentrate efforts and provide a common focus for National Food Day activities. In 2023\, the theme focused on the impact water has on global food production: ”Water is life\, water is food. Leave no one behind.” \nPlease see letter sent via MCAS for further information.  This can also be found on the website in our Parent Hub tab in School Letters.

SUMMARY:IFtL Family Day *changes made
DESCRIPTION:This year Ashbrook School will be holding an IFtL Family Day\, celebrating our connections\, particularly with Holmwood School and Two Mile Ash School within our Trust. \n*There has been a change to this event due to a clash for events at one of our partner schools. The children at Ashbrook School will remain on site for the duration of the day and will complete some activities thinking about our IFtL family. Mr Ainscow will also share an IFtL assembly at the end of the day with our children. \nQuestion for our community: How many of the IFtL schools in our Trust family do you know?
