SUMMARY:Year 2 Christmas Sing-along
DESCRIPTION:We look forward to sharing this special evening with you!  As this event will be held outside there is no limit on adults and siblings. \nArrangements will be as follows: \nPlease bring your child to school by 4:40pm wearing festive clothes e.g. Christmas jumpers\, hats\, headbands\, tinsel (as festive as possible). \nAll children will need to have a warm coat\, hat\, scarves\, gloves as they will be singing outside. \nChildren will enter via the school hall door and registers will be taken by class teachers. \nAfter dropping off your child\, please go to the playground\, where there will be hot chocolate\, coffee\, tea\, squash and mince pies for 50p each.  These can be paid for using cash (please bring change) or Ashbrook tokens.  *Tokens are non-refundable\, however any unused tokens  may be used for the Friday 50p stall. \nThe playground gates will open at 4:45pm and close promptly at 5pm. They will remain closed through the duration of the singing. \nOnce the children have finished singing\, they will line up with their teachers\, so they can be handed back to their parents/carers (the same as home time). \n

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to inform you that the Year 2 children will be going on a special trip to Cineworld Xscape\, as part of the Into Film Festival on Wednesday 12th November 2025. They will be watching ‘Wild Robot’\, which has a U (universal) rating.  \nThe cost of the film is free\, however to make this trip possible\, we kindly ask for a contribution of £5 per child which covers the cost of the coach travel and a popcorn snack for the film (allergies will be catered for). Unfortunately\, if we do not receive enough contributions\, we will be unable to proceed with the trip. This visit will focus on Victorian toys and homes\, linking directly to our current history unit\, where the children are learning about life in the Victorian era. \nDuring the visit\, the children will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s wonderful collection of Victorian toys and household items. They will take part in interactive workshops that will help them understand how children lived\, played\, and learned in Victorian times. This hands-on experience will greatly enrich their understanding of this period in history. \nWe kindly ask for a contribution of £14 per child to cover the costs of the trip. SUMMARY:Halloween Disco
DESCRIPTION:3.00pm-4.00pm – Leopards and Elephants classes\n4.00pm–5.00pm – Zebras\, Giraffes\, Tigers and Lions classes \nThere will be a disco and lots of fun party games. Children will also be provided with a drink and a snack. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you have any concerns regarding allergies.  Tickets are available via MCAS in ‘Events’ \nWe are pleased to offer after school care for children in Year 1 and Year 2 \, so that children can stay in school and then go directly to the disco at 4.00pm.  This can be booked via MCAS in ‘Events’ \nPlease note this event is for children attending Ashbrook School only.

SUMMARY:Dress for Diwali
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Diwali with our community\, we would like to invite children to come to school in their traditional clothing or party clothes on Tuesday 21 October. \nChildren will be taking part in lots of different activities to learn about and celebrate\, the festival of Diwali throughout the day. \nIf there are any parents in our school community who would like to support with our celebrations\, we would love to hear from you.
