Welcome to Tigers Class Page
This half term we have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We started off by thinking about things we wanted to find out and put these into questions.
In our English lessons we read a story called, ‘Toby and the Great Fire of London’. We imagined what it might have been like to have lived through the fire and wrote diary extracts to recount our experiences. In our History lessons we used a timeline to sequence the important events and to understand how and why the fire spread so quickly. As part of our theme in Art and DT, we blended paint to create a fiery background for silhouettes of London and created Great Fire of London houses.
In Maths we have been learning how to multiply and divide using objects and jottings. We have been practising how to count in steps of 2, 5 and 10 as well as beginning to learn these as times tables facts.
During the last part of the half term we have been practising for our performance of ‘Lights, Camel, Action!’ We really enjoyed learning new songs and practising our dance moves!
We are looking forward to next half term when we will be learning about the ‘Great Fire of London’.
