West End in Schools – storytelling and drama workshops
February 26 @ 09:00 - 15:00
We are delighted to share with you that as part of our World Book Day celebrations, West End in Schools theatre company will be visiting Ashbrook School on Monday 26 February. West End in Schools provide the fantastic opportunity of delivering storytelling and drama workshops that are run by trained actors.
“West End in Schools offers pantomimes, dance and drama workshops, musical theatre shows, and Shakespeare workshops to primary schools all over the UK, as well as Shakespeare workshops for secondary schools.
We’re the only school theatre company with trained actors drawn from the world of London’s West End theatre.
Our team includes performers who have sung in musicals such as Wicked and Matilda, danced in Chicago and Shrek, and acted on the stages of the National Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse. Over the last few years they have worked with and performed to well over a million children.”
To bring their learning to life, each class will be taking part in an interactive 40-minute session that will focus on the story telling. The children will use drama exercises and activities to imagine and explore the characters, context and topics from new perspectives. During the sessions, the children will look at the story as a whole before delving into the story’s setting and imagining how the characters move, feel and think.
In order for us to take part in this exciting and enriching day, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £3.00 per child. Please make your payment via your ParentMail account.
