MK Food Bank receives donations
On Monday 20th October, the PATH schools (Ashbrook, Holmwood and Two Mile Ash) came together to deliver essential donations from our school community. The Two Mile Ash minibus was used to transport the tins, food packets, jars, cereals and so much more to the MK Food Bank depot in Bletchley. Clara and Sarv (from Lions and Tigers class in Year 2) joined children from each of the schools. The three headteachers, Mr Ainscow, Mrs Elford and Mrs Eldridge also came along to find out more about what happens to all of the donations.
Once the minibus and cars were unpacked and loaded into the depot the children and staff met with some of the volunteers at MK Food Bank. There was a lot of sorting, checking and packing up of food ready for collection too.
Did you know?
500 parcels a week are given out using the donations to those in need
Each parcel contains 18 items for a person
Parcels can include beans, spaghetti, rice, tinned fruit and milk
The parcel is an emergency supply to last 3 days
To continue supporting the families and people most in need, MK Food bank needs 10,000 items per week.
A huge thank you goes to all of those who donated something for us to help make the lives of others that little bit more comfortable.
