Our newest rockstars

Rocksteady have been working with children at Ashbrook for over a year now. This autumn some new children joined the programme and have been learning to work together to create great beats, explore their instruments and work on vocals.

It’s so nice to see the children coming together each week and watching their faces when they have learned something new. Learning to play an instrument takes time and commitment.

The instructor, Sam, takes the children through every step to fine-tune all of their skills. Each week the children will have the opportunity to make improvements – all part of being a musician.

At Ashbrook, all children develop a love of music through our music curriculum. This includes many opportunities to sing, use instruments and perform – from Foundation through to Year 2. We will also be working together with our partner schools, Two Mile Ash and Holmwood, to develop our musical strategies looking ahead.
