Librarians
At Ashbrook school, our librarians play a crucial role in nurturing a love for reading and learning among our young students. Their enthusiasm creates a welcoming and inspiring environment in our school library, where children can explore a world of books and stories.
Our librarians are learning to encourage a lifelong love of reading. They work together to find new ideas like organising engaging activities such as storytime sessions, reading challenges, and book clubs that captivate our childrens' imaginations. By fostering a positive reading culture, our librarians help children develop strong literacy skills and a curiosity for knowledge.
We are incredibly proud of our librarians' efforts to create an inclusive and enriching library experience for all our children.
Meet Our Wonderful Librarians
What have our librarians been doing this year?
November 2025
Mr Ainscow met with the librarians and together they explored what could make Ashbrook's library even better. Here are the main ideas from our librarians:
- more books about animals
- sort books so that they are easier to find (including baskets on the same theme)
- more chairs or comfy beans bags so more people can sit and read
- book cover bunting around the library to make it look special
- show our grown ups videos of the books we have
- open the library after school for grown ups to visit too
- video of how to keep the books tidy (with a screen or a QR code to scan)
- reviews of books
October 2025
Our librarians met and thought about their important roles for the year. They focused on keeping our library tidy and learnt how to make the books look tidy on the shelves and on displays too. We had very eager tidying hands!
